March 2 Business Meeting

Guests are always welcomed at our meetings. We are a very informal group of quilters of all levels of quilting abilities, so don’t be bashful. Come join in the fun!

The meeting usually opens with show and tell, where we can admire finished projects or works in progress. If you have questions, this is a good place to find answers, or at least several opinions! Refreshments this month are by Pat L. and Paula H. A brief business meeting is conducted during which you can discover the upcoming events and perhaps suggest a topic for one of the open workshops. Is there a quilting technique or block you would like to learn?

Remember to take your Schoolhouse Block to the meeting in order to participate in the drawing for a gift certificate! If you cannot attend, you may still participate in the drawing by posting your block before the meeting. See Virtual Blocks in our Block Blog for details!

The March 20th workshop features the Cathedral Window block using the PEEKA-VIEW! technique. Joanna will walk you through creating a One-Block hanging. See the Block Blog for more information and materials list.

February 20 Workshops

Saturday was double-booked and members had their choice of learning to piece the delicate palm leaf block with Kathy D. teaching, or attending the workshop in Dover where about 160 quilts were completed for Linus Blanket Day.

February 2 Business Meeting

The February Business Meeting is fast approaching! This Groundhog Day meeting will be held at the American Legion in Greenville at 6 PM. Members and guests are welcome. The meeting will kick off with Show and Tell, so dig out your projects, finished or not, and show us what keeps you busy during the winter!

The Block of the Month (see Blocks) is the Grandmother’s Fan. There were several under construction at the January workshop, so we hope to admire several. You get to keep your own block and are entered into the evening’s drawing for a gift certificate at Crazy Moose Fabrics in Greenville. Those who are out of town and cannot attend, please post a photo, or email a photo by Monday, Feb. 1, to be entered into the evening’s drawing.

January Workshop

The workshop this month uses the February Block of the Month (BOM) to help us hone our skills using templates, curved piecing, applique and embellishment! At the end of the day you will have your block ready for next month!

As always, you may attend and work on your own projects, or just visit and enjoy a day out.

January 5 Business Meeting

The new year starts off quickly with our first business meeting on Tuesday, January 5th, 2010 at 6 PM the American Legion hall in Greenville. The Moosehead Quilters welcome visitors and new members, as well as all our returning members.

Dues are $20 for the year and include a calendar, and donation-free access to all business meetings and workshops. Members are also given first opportunities to attend all retreats.
